Woodstock welcomed to Hereford Enterprise Zone

A business that supplies distinctive bathroom furniture has become one of the latest firms to sign up to a move onto the Hereford Enterprise Zone.

The Woodstock Trading Company will move operations from Gloucester to set up its business base on a three-acre site on Skylon Park, Rotherwas, from January.

With an existing workforce of 45, the company aims to create an additional 20 jobs during its first three years in Hereford.

Skylon Park is the 72-acre site designated as the Enterprise Zone of the Marches Local Enterprise Partnership, the private sector-led organisation tasked with revitalising the economy of Herefordshire, Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin.

Ben Doouss, Managing Partner of the Woodstock Trading Company, said: “To a growing business like ours, Skylon Park was an attractive proposition.

“The business rate relief is also a welcome inducement as every penny helps when you are expanding your business. We’re really pleased to be a part of the Hereford Enterprise Zone and are looking forward to putting down roots on Skylon Park.”

Chairman of the Enterprise Zone Board, Bill Jackson, said: “I am delighted to welcome the Woodstock Trading Company to Skylon Park.  The move illustrates perfectly the benefits that the Enterprise Zone can offer businesses.”

Businesses moving onto Skylon Park can benefit from a range of incentives including simplified and free planning, superfast and ultrafast broadband and business rates relief.

It has already attracted major developments including a regional centre for Western Power Distribution and construction industry supplier Marches Global. Beck Products, a leading UK supplier to the construction and horticultural industries, also has a base on the Park.  A number of other projects are under construction.

The majority of the land in the Zone, 80 per cent, is owned by Herefordshire Council with the remainder owned by the Goodwin Trust.
